Not to be outdone, wrapped around this casing is Specialized’s Gripton T5 compound, which outfits these tires with incredible traction in all conditions while maintaining a level of wear resistance normally found in mountain bike tires. Taking advantage of that remarkable compound is a unique tread pattern that has a compact central tread pattern that creates a freely rolling tire when ripping down hardpack trails; the tread knobs then change shape and become more widely spaced as the tire transitions to the shoulder blocks for predictable traction when it is time to start leaning into a corner, culminating in shoulder knobs that will dig into any terrain for truly impressive cornering capabilities.
